The Richmond Local Involvement Network (LINk) is a community-driven initiative improving public engagement in health and social care services in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Established in 2008, it empowers residents to influence local services.

Created under the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, LINks were introduced to replace older public engagement systems. Richmond LINk is one of 151 networks tailored to local communities, providing a platform for residents to share experiences and ensure services meet their needs.

Its activities include gathering feedback, organising events, and advocating for improvements in health and social care. By analysing community input and collaborating with service providers, Richmond LINk ensures residents’ voices shape decision-making and drive meaningful improvements in service quality.

Mr Charles Dohvoma is a distinguished Consultant Oral Surgeon with over three decades of experience. A graduate of the University of Bristol in 1986, he later achieved a Fellowship in Oral Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Following his initial training at St Thomas’ Hospital London, he honed his expertise at prestigious institutions including the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Royal Preston Hospital, and St Bartholomew’s Hospital.

Currently based at Nobles Hospital on the Isle of Man, Mr Dohvoma also holds an Honorary Contract with the University Hospital Aintree Regional Maxillofacial Unit in Liverpool. His professional affiliations include Fellowship of the British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and membership in several international surgical organisations.

His clinical interests cover wisdom tooth surgery, temporo-mandibular disorders, oral medicine, laser tongue-tie release, jaw cyst enucleation, and dental implant surgery.

Dr Susan Elizabeth Bradbury is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 30 years of experience in mental health care. She is trained to specialist level in general adult psychiatry and psychotherapy, with extensive expertise across the NHS, private sector, and academic settings. Her work includes inpatient, outpatient, and day hospital care.

Dr Bradbury has a special interest in using psychological therapies alongside other treatments to manage anxiety, depression, post-natal depression, psychosis, and personality disorders. She also offers support for eating disorders, gastrointestinal issues, pain management, and psychophysiological conditions.

As a former medical director at Cygnet Hospital Harrogate, she developed a mother and baby service and worked with eating disorder programmes. In addition to direct care, she provides consultations to review treatment plans and recommend interventions.

Mr Ali Alhamdani is a highly regarded bariatric surgeon based in London, known for his expertise in obesity surgery. With over 3,500 procedures performed, he offers a comprehensive range of treatments, including gastric bypass, gastric band, gastric sleeve, and revisional bariatric surgery.

Mr Alhamdani is recognised for his exceptional safety record, with a very low complication rate and zero mortality. Trained extensively in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery across the UK, Europe, and America, he is at the forefront of his field. His specialisation extends to upper gastrointestinal conditions, including the management of gallstone disease and peptic ulcer disease.

A leader in bariatric surgery, Mr Alhamdani is particularly skilled in the mini gastric bypass, which combines effectiveness and safety. His dedication to patient outcomes and his advanced surgical techniques have earned him a reputation as one of London’s top specialists in weight-loss surgery.

Mr Velauthapillai Nandapalan is an experienced Consultant ENT Surgeon, appointed as a substantive consultant to St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust in January 2000. He completed comprehensive training in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery on the Merseyside training rotation and further specialised with a Skull Base Fellowship in Zurich, Switzerland, and a Neuro-otology Fellowship in Copenhagen, Denmark.

As a Surgical Tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons and an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Liverpool, Mr Nandapalan is deeply involved in medical education. He also serves as a member of the Merseyside Specialist Training and Education Committee, contributing to the development of future surgeons.

With numerous peer-reviewed publications and regular presentations at local and international meetings, Mr Nandapalan is a recognised leader in his field. He is the Lead Clinician for Head and Neck Lump Services and Clinical Director of ENT and Head and Neck Services.

Dr Maurice Pye is a Consultant Cardiologist with over 20 years of experience at York Hospital, where he serves as Senior Cardiologist and Lead Clinician for Cardiology. Trained in General Medicine in Cardiff and Manchester, he completed his Cardiology training at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and St George’s Hospital, London, earning an MD with Distinction in 1992.
